Our Work
SCDEF is pleased to offer financial support to organizations whose activities promote traditional Scottish country dance and music. We partner with organizations of any size and structure and in any country. We especially welcome creative and exploratory approaches to strengthen and grow the SCD community.
Below are a selection of projects that SCDEF has supported in the past. Click the header of each initiative to discover more about it.

SCDEF provided a substantial grant to the Youth Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society to hold a “Youth Weekend Away” for dancers 12–35 in Ottawa, Ontario. This was the first Youth Branch event ever held in Canada. The grant enabled this youth-led branch to bring together dancers, musicians, and teachers for a lively weekend of Scottish country dance classes and social dances for the next generation. Young and newer dancers were given opportunities to form long-lasting relationships with peers in the SCD community through tailored classes and social activities, and then brought together with dancers of all ages for a celebratory evening ball.
